Set by a secluded beach, Kauai Beach Resort is a popular hotel resort on the island of Kauai. While most of the units at this resort are operated as part of a larger hotel, some of the units like mine are privately owned condos and are operated separately from the hotel program.
By renting directly from an owner instead of the hotel, you are able to save significantly with lower nightly rates and no amenity fees. By renting Unit 2444 directly, you are guaranteed one of the best ocean view units at the resort.
However by renting directly from an owner, there are some things to keep in mind:
- No daily housekeeping
- No access to the hotel's towel exchange program
- No access to the hotel's cultural activities like lei making classes and ukulele lessons.
- No airport shuttle service
- No valet parking
You will have access to:
- 24/7 fitness center (complimentary)
- Business center (complimentary)
- Pools, hot tubs and water slide (complimentary)
- Bell Hop (complimentary)
- Resort Wifi (complimentary)
- Live hula dance and music show by the poolside every Friday at 4 PM (complimentary)
- Sunrise yoga ($20 per session)
- Nightly music at Shutter's Lounge
- Restaurants
- Spa
- Gift shop
Please note: Laundry facilities are currently closed due to resort construction
In-unit, you will be provided with:
- Starter set of toiletries
- Pool towels
- Bath towels
- Paper towels
- Toilet Paper
- Disposable plates and utensils
- Glass cups, ceramic mugs, and wine glasses
- Dishwashing Soap and Sponge
- Coffeemaker
- Small bag of ground coffee
- Ice bucket
- Safe
- Larger trash bin
- Cable TV
- Super NES Classic
- Resort Wi-Fi
Because guests do not have access to the towel exchange program, I leave extra beach towels and bath towels for guests.
Please note, the parking fee is $40 a day and managed by the resort. Valet service not available to Airbnb guests. You will make payment to the Front Desk when checking-in. The parking lot at the resort is owned by a private entity, and the rates are not set by the owners of the condos or the HOA.
The studio room does not have a kitchen, but you will have access to several on-site dining options ranging from casual beachside grills to fine dining establishments. There is also a large gift shop in the lobby that sells simple pastries and beverages including beer, wine and spirits, and a coffee shop inside approved with serving various Starbucks drinks.
In-room amenities include a mini-fridge, coffee maker, flat-screen TV, high-speed internet, and a private lanai (balcony) - the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or watch the sunrise.
While the unit does not have a kitchen, I do leave glass cups, ceramic mugs, wine glasses and disposable utensils and plates. A starter set of ground coffee and a starter set of toiletries are provided. Additional can be purchased at the gift shop.
The HOA does not allow microwaves within the condo unit. Microwave available on the third floor. Vending machine and ice machine available down the hall from Unit 2444 on the fourth floor. Water station with filtered water available on the fifth floor.
Please note that this studio condo has two full size beds (double size beds.) As a result, the size of the bed may be too small for some people who are use to queen or king size beds. Please keep this in mind before reserving the space.
The size of the condo including lanai is about 320 sq ft – this is the size of a hotel room. Depending on your needs, this may be too small for four adults, or just right. Please keep this in mind before booking your reservation.
Whether you're looking to explore the island's natural beauty, immerse yourself in local culture, or simply unwind by the beach or pools, this studio condo at the Kauai Beach Resort is centrally located on island just 7 minutes away from the airport and is your perfect home base to explore all sides of the island.
I look forward to hosting your stay in Kauai. Book now and experience the Aloha spirit!

***Current & Upcoming Construction
~~4/2/26 Update~~
Outrigger resorts is currently renovating the lobby and restaurant areas through the 3rd quarter of 2026.
Thereafter, Outrigger plans on renovating the outdoor pool bar, exterior of lobby bar and restaurant (which can be seen below Unit 2444), and Porte Cochere (the covered roof by the main entrance over the driveway).
Unfortunately, the lobby renovations are a lot more extensive than initially thought. Noise may reach the fourth floor Airbnb unit as it shares the same building. The restaurant area can also be loud while construction is occurring as it's next to the lobby area.
Hoarding walls have affected how guests navigate through the resort, and has added an extra elevator ride to reach the condo unit.
Guests have said that noise from the lobby and restaurant renovations currently underway have not reached the pool area. However, this could change when Outrigger renovates the pool bar, though this would only affect the immediate area. The resort itself has multiple pools throughout the area.
Because Outrigger privately owns the lobby and restaurant spaces, they have provided very little notice and information to private owners on the scope of the project, or project timeline.
Therefore, until construction is complete, this condo is ideal for guests that are flexible with noise and construction, the additional flight or stairs or elevator trip, and are interested in a good deal for an oceanview condo in Kauai with a fantastic outdoor pool.
Construction discount has been applied to rates through 3rd quarter of 2026. Prices will be adjusted thereafter, as Outrigger updates owners of the resort construction.
~~HOA Notices Below~~
✧ Third Notice from Outrigger and HOA:
I am excited to share the progress we are making and that we are still on schedule with the major
components of the renovation as we will return the following areas to operations:
- Lobby Restrooms/Jasmine and Orchid rooms - Beginning of April
- Restaurant/Lobby Bar - Middle of May, re-concepting may extend it to first week of June
- Lobby - Late May
The remainder of the interior common areas (Fitness, Cultural, Business centers and Voyager 47) are
scheduled to come back on-line in August/September.
We will update you soon on the exterior common areas (Pool Bar, exteriors of Lobby Bar and Restaurant, and Porte Cochere areas.
✧ Second Notice from Outrigger and HOA:
We are happy to announce that we are well into our project as we have hit our first milestone since relocating the Front Desk to our temporary location. We now have begun the process of transforming our restaurant. In the meantime, we have moved our breakfast and dinner venue into the future Voyager 47 space and continue to offer our value-added breakfast buffet.
This initial phase includes the lobby, lobby bar, restaurant and fitness center. We expect to maintain this current configuration until the lobby bar is completed in April/May and we will begin breakfast and dinner services in our newest space. The remainder of these spaces in this initial
phase is expected to be completed in the 2nd quarter next year. Prior to this period, the next phase consisting of the cultural center, lobby restrooms, and meeting spaces will already have started,
revolving around the move of the front desk back into our new re-designed lobby also around the 2nd quarter.
Voyager 47, our club level lounge is expected to be complete in the 3rd quarter as it is currently serving as our restaurant. This schedule reflects only two of the potentially 5 or 6 permits for the entire project and we are unable to be very specific with dates.
The majority of questions that we are fielding from owners individually revolve around schedule. I hope this gives you an idea of when things are expected to start/finish and also why we are unable to be more specific.
The multiple permit approach enabled us to start as soon as possible with
the most critical components.
We would like to conclude with: all amenities continue to be available to our guests:
- The Driftwood Bar continues to operate for the lunch meal period and to serve our guests
and visitors
- Our spa continues to offer services and has been provided a massage venue that is closer to the ocean
- The pool deck continues its evolution as mentioned above
- Despite the loss of the lobby, we have transformed the pre-function space as a lounge
- The sundry store continues to provide the essentials that our guests need without leaving property
- The existing fitness center remains accessible to all at all times
Also frequently asked is how guests navigate despite the installation of hoarding walls. Please see attached map, that illustrates the most recent traffic patterns.
More importantly, we have signage at each junction point that indicate the path to get to certain areas (i.e., pool, restaurant,
fitness center etc…).
As things change, we revise the paths and signage accordingly.
✧ First Notice from Outrigger and HOA:
"We are excited to share that we finally have the permits to begin the work on our public areas. In the initial phase, the Lobby/Lounge, Lobby Bar and Restaurant, and the new Fitness Center followed by the Meeting Spaces and the Cultural Center. We apologize for the short notice as we benefited from a favorable determination from the county. The hoarding walls which will provide safety and hide the areas that will be worked on from the corridors that will allow guest/host traffic flow will start being erected the week of September 29th and will continue for about two weeks. The start of the construction is expected to start in the middle of October.
This initial phase is expected to be completed in the 2nd quarter of 2026. The management team has worked closely with the construction teams to develop the best possible guest experience as it relates to arrival, circulation in the resort and offerings. We will continue to have a restaurant and pool bar offering during the duration of the renovation."
2) Laundry facilities closed until further notice
